TEACHER PREP: Print and distribute (or electronically share) the “Taking Stock” worksheet, and ensure that each student has a writing utensil. Be prepared to share which tools you’ve used in your own personal practice, and how your body responds to stress.

WHAT STUDENTS NEED: A “Taking Stock” worksheet and a writing utensil

OBJECTIVES
  • Students will be able to define resilience.
  • Students will be able to take stock of their stressors and their body’s stress responses.
  • Students will begin to explore what strengthens resilience.
  • Students will understand that they must be able to “name” their stress and stress warning signs in order to begin to “tame” that stress.
